Jacky Maniacky
Jacky MANIACKY, Head of ‘Culture & Society’ Service at the Royal Museum for Central Africa (RMCA, Tervuren, Belgium), holds a PhD in African Linguistics from INALCO (Paris, France). His research interests are in African linguistics (description and comparison of Bantu languages), focusing on Congo (where he originated from), DRC, Angola, Namibia and Rwanda. Since 2008, he has extended his research into the African cultural legacy (languages, music, religions…) in America, mainly in Brazil. He has also been member of COMRAF (advisory committee with the African diaspora) and commissary of a hall dedicated to languages and music in the new permanent exhibition of the RMCA.
