Madeline Routon
Madeline Routon is pursuing her MPhil in Nature, Society, and Environmental Governance at the University of Oxford. Her research explores the transformative political and pedagogical potential of cultural production (read: DIY art) in autonomous, occupied, and squatted spaces. Before coming to Oxford, she earned her BA in Geography and Environmental Studies from UCLA and subsequently worked in the arts sector in Los Angeles, for organisations such as the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and MOCA | The Museum of Contemporary Art. In her free time, she made pottery and volunteered teaching ceramics to kids at nonprofit Inner City Arts.
